16. Highest Common Factor (HCF) [ மீப்பெரு பொதுக்காரணி (மீ.பெ.கா]

Highest Common Factor (HCF)

          The HCF of two or more numbers is the highest common factor of the given numbers.

          It is found by multiplying the common prime factors of the given numbers.

          Whereas the Least Common Multiple (LCM) of two or more numbers is the smallest number among all common multiples of the given numbers.

[ மீப்பெரு பொதுக்காரணி (மீ.பெ.கா]  

a யும் b யும் இரண்டும் பூஜ்யம் இல்லை என்றால், அவற்றின் மீப்பெரு பொது வகுத்தியை அவற்றின் மீச்சிறு பொது மடங்கு (least common multiple, lcm) என்னும் எண்ணால் கூறலாம்.

                                      (gcd = மீபொவ)
