Introduction :
a) Did you know that our national anthem was
written by Rabindranath Tagore?

Guided Reading:
I read the prose with proper stress, pause and
intonation. Students listen silently at the first time. Second time they repeat
after me. They read in small groups.
Teacher’s activity:
Before explaining this supplementary, the
teacher also explains the new words with the help of chart. The teacher
explains the lesson in simple words through video.
Student’s activity:
Volunteer students to briefly
explain the content explained by the teacher in front of other students.

• Tagore returned from his second
Voyage to London. He went to stay with his brother Jyotirindra and
sister-in-law, who were living in a riverside. He recollects his experiences of
watching the beauty of nature.
• He was amazed by the Bengal
Sky-full of light, the South freeze, the flow of river and cool shade of the
wooded banks. The riverside nest where replaced by mills.
• He enjoyed some rainy afternoons.
Rabindranath Tagore sang some songs with harmonium, his brother played with his
violin.
• He enjoyed silvery peace on both
land and water. The Villa they were living in was known as Moran's Garden. In
the sitting room, he saw one of the pictures depicting a swing hanging from a
branch of a tree and two persons swinging.
• There was another picture of the
flight of steps and men and women in festive clothes going and coming. When the
light fell on the windows, these pictures shown beautifully.
• The topmost room of the house was
in a round Tower with Windows opening to every side this Tagore used as his
room for writing poetry.

Remedial Teaching:
I give oral
drills, reading practice for the slow bloomers. They use the internet source to
enrich their skills.
Writing:
They write the writing practice by
follow the teacher. They write fill in the blanks, write the
answers for the questions.
Follow up work:
Go to your home and ask the elders
to come and write a biography of Rabindranath Tagore, his writings, the awards
he has acquired and the titles he has received.
