Introduction & Motivation:

• Have you traveled by ship?

• Do you like to travel by ship?

• Are you excited for the sea?

• What do you think of the sea travel?

• Work in pairs choose 6 items which are essential for a sea travel. Rank their period and justify your answer.

 

Guided Reading:

I read the Poem with proper stress, pause, and intonation. Students listen silently at the first time. Second time they repeat after me. They read in small groups.

Teacher’s activity:

Before explaining this poem, the teacher also explains the new words with the help of chart. The teacher explains the poem in simple words through video.

Student’s activity:

Volunteer students to briefly explain the content explained by the teacher in front of other students.

Consolidation and Presentation: (Write in Hints mode)

• "Sea Fever" is an interesting poem written by John Edward Masefield. The speaker of the poem is a sea lover. He wants to travel in the lonely sea without anyone accompanying him.

• He desires to travel in a well-built ship with a star to accompany him. The sailor follows the direction of the star. When the day breaks, he enjoys the morning mist. He feels delighted when strong winds are carrying the clouds away from his path. He wants to lead a "vagrant gypsy life".

• He likes to enjoy the way how seagulls and whales live. Adventures, memories, and journey are the major themes of this poem. The speaker hears a continuous call from the sea, and he says that it is unavoidable.

 

Reinforcement:

Prepare and write a discussion programme as you go to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Remedial Teaching:

I give oral drills, reading practice for the late bloomers. They use the internet source to enrich their skills.

Writing:

They will write the writing practice by follow the teacher. They will write the book back exercises… Read the poem and fill in the blanks with the correct option, Pick out the words which rhyme with the given words and write similar rhyming words on your own.

Follow up work:

Write an article discussing your future sea trip with your family in detail.
