My Computer Needs A Break  Teaching of Poem


Standard : VIII,

Topic : My Computer Needs A Break,

Theme : Talks about both the positives and negatives of using a computer. A computer  makes the lives of human beings much easier.

• Cites evidence for the explicit and implied meaning of the poem and appreciates the poetic devices used in the poem.

• identify the new words and understand their contextual meaning.

• Develops skill of writing simple poems.

• create their own hilarious stories based on the pictures given.

 

Introduction & Motivation

• What jobs can the computer do in this world?

• What do you know to do on the computer?

• Who taught you to use the computer?

• Does the system need a rest?

 

Guided Reading:

Teacher read the Poem with proper stress, pause, and intonation. Students listen silently at the first time. Second time they repeat after me. They read in small groups.

Teacher’s activity:

Before explaining this poem, the teacher also explains the new words with the help of chart. The teacher explains the poem in simple words through video.

Student’s activity:

Volunteer students to briefly explain the content explained by the teacher in front of other students.

• My computer has a great deal of knowledge, clever, and a lot of news like mountain.

• If I type a query and click with the mouse, my computer will answer it the next moment, but at present my computer is behaving badly, forgetting it and not knowing what to do.

• It has forgotten to save and protect my work. It is very frightening to disappear.

• I forgot to check my writing and hide the files. They disappear.

• One day my mischievous computer swallowed a worm. Often it was going on and I started to nod.

• It was then infected with the virus. Immediately I called the doctor.

• When the doctor checked, I told him the doctor needed a vacation for my exhausted computer.

 

Reinforcement:

Write down all the work you can do using the computer, sit down and share it with others.

Evaluation:

• How does the poet describe the computer?

• What happened to the computer?

• list four things that the computer could not do after it became absent-minded

• Why did the poet call the doctor?

 

Remedial Teaching:

Teacher give oral drills, reading practice for the late bloomers. They use the internet source to enrich their skills.

Writing:

They will write the writing practice by follow the teacher. They will write the book back exercises… Read the poem and fill in the blanks with the correct option, Pick out the words which rhyme with the given words and write similar rhyming words on your own.

Follow up work:

In your own imagination, come up with new ways of protecting the environment, agriculture, air, water and land in our lives using the system through new technology.
