 Part - II : Q.no 19

GIVEN:-

 OP=17cm PT=15cm

In an right angle triangle △OTP,

By Pythagoras theroem,

Op²    = OT² + PT²

17²     =  OT² + 15²

OT²     = 17²-15²

OT      = √17²-15²

           = √289-225

           = √64

     OT = 8

 Part - II  : Q.no 20

Given Data :-

Slope m= -5/4

Passing through the points = ( 3 , - 4 )

The points slope form of the equation 

y - (-4) = - 5 /7  (x-3)

 

y+4 = - 5 / 7 (x - 3)

 

7(y+4) = - 5 (x - 3)

 

7y + 28 = - 5x + 15

 

5x +7y +13 = 0

Q.no 37. Part - III

Let AB be building & EC be the statue 

In an △ AED , 

tan30 ° = ED / AD                          Hints (AB=BC) , BC=20m 

ED = AD tan30 °                             tan30 ° = 1 / √3

ED = 20 / √3 m 

                                                 tan45 ° = 1

In an △ ACD ,                            1 / √3 = 0.577

tan45 ° = DC / AD

DC = AD tan45 °

DC = 20 ( 1 )

DC = 20m

Therefore , Height of the statue ,

EC = ED + DC

      = 20 / √3 + 20

      = 20 [1 / √3 + 1]

     = 20 (0.577 + 1)

EC = 31.54m

Height of the statue is 31.54m
